Red Bull not questioning Ferrari
- Bobby Vincent
Dr Helmut Marko insists his Red Bull team will not question speculation over Ferrari.
Ferrari are now ahead of Mercedes with their engine it seems, for the first time in the 'power unit' era.
Questions have been asked over Ferrari's system to get more power out of its hybrid elements and many believe that the way they have done it is controversial, including Mercedes boss Toto Wolff.
"I'm not saying that it's true, but if someone was prepared to risk their reputation, then there is very little possibility of policing this," Wolff told OneStopStrategy.com.
"It's a very highly complex technology. So with all the scepticism and paranoia than exists in Formula One, we have to trust the integrity of people and organisations, and we do that.
"We trust FIA and we trust our competitors, because that is the only way we can compete on a Sunday."
Red Bull's Dr Helmut Marko instead stuck up for Ferrari and asked questions of Mercedes.
"Mercedes had the best engine for four years, but now Ferrari does," Marko told Auto Bild.
"They should accept that and not wash their dirty clothes. At Red Bull, we do not participate in these rumours. We know what Sebastian (Vettel) can do, including in engine development.
"He has made sure that Ferrari overtook Mercedes. Now Mercedes always need luck to win. If everything goes normally, Ferrari are ahead."
