Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo, and Sergio Perez have given a brief interview to GQ magazine about their routine around racing. On the Instagram page of the magazine, the drivers' answer, among other questions, where they would like to race a Grand Prix.

The three drivers were in New York for the unveiling of the Red Bull livery for 2023. Magazine GQ asked the drivers some light-hearted questions, including the question: what would you do if you were not a racing driver? Verstappen again made it clear that motorsport is his absolute passion.

"I would still do something with racing," sounds the Dutchman's answer. "Something like a management role. Or I would set up something with my father. It could be in racing, or maybe karting."

Another question was which country or city the drivers would like to see on the calendar. Perez replied that he would find New York a nice addition. Ricciardo and Verstappen looked a little further. " We still need a race in Africa," Verstappen replied. "We race in practically every other continent, so I think that would be the logical next step for F1." Ricciardo fully concurred.

It is not the first time this has been thrown up. Lewis Hamilton, among others, has regularly mentioned that he would like to see a race in Africa. For a long time, the South African Grand Prix was on the calendar until it was abolished in 1985 in protest against the country's apartheid regime. The Grand Prix returned in 1992 and 1993, which was also the last time a Formula 1 race was held in Africa. Alain Prost managed to win the last race on the continent.
