Verstappen clarifies: 'Very important to have several drivers do that'

Max Verstappen has clarified some recent statements he made about simulator work. According to some, this suggested that he did not want Red Bull Racing's test drivers to do the necessary simulator work, but that was not what he meant by his comment.
Verstappen clarifies statements
Verstappen recently said he prefers to test himself in the simulator ahead of the new Formula 1 season. Asked by the Australian Speedcafe.com if this will affect the work Daniel Ricciardo will do for the team, the Dutchman replied that he may have been misquoted.
"What I meant was that I prefer to do the days because if I’m not going to do them, people don’t know my feedback when I drive on the simulator, and I think it’s very important to have a lot of different drivers on the simulator," he clarified. Apart from the regular drivers and recently Ricciardo, Rudy van Buren and Sebastien Buemi also put in a lot of hours in Red Bull Racing's simulator.
Especially for them, the feedback from Verstappen and Sergio Perez is important. "From our feedback, they can understand their role better in terms of when new parts come onto the car in the simulator first to understand that it’s actually going in the right direction. So that’s why I think it’s always very important that the actual driver in the car is also doing the simulator work," said the two-time world champion.
