Sargeant thanks friend Russell: 'He advises me a lot'
- GPblog.com
Only relatively late did Logan Sargeant learn that he could make his debut in Formula 1 this season. For the Williams rookie, the year is mainly about gaining experience and learning as much as possible in Formula 1. In doing so, all help is welcome.
The best advice a future Formula 1 driver can get, of course, is from people who have experience of racing in the pinacle of motorsport. During Williams' press presentation, which GPblog also attended, Sargeant was asked if he had asked other drivers for advice?
Just finished a long season
"I haven't bothered any other drivers in the past couple of months because obviously they just come out of a long season and everyone's just wants to get to the offseason", the American said. "But you know, to be to be honest, George George has always been a good friend of mine and always has given me a lot of advice and he's always been super helpful. So I'd say, yeah him and Alex have have definitely been super super open and helpful on that side job."
Sargeant is the first American driver in Formula 1 in a long time. No doubt all eyes will be on him in his native country this season, especially with the sport's popularity soaring. "I've had a lot of positive reactions from friends that I've you know, raised with back in the day and any car drivers and nascar drivers etcetera. So yeah, it's been a very positive reaction and yeah, cool."
