McLaren unveil the MCL60 for the new F1 season
- GPblog.com
McLaren showed the outside world the MCL60 for the first time on Monday night. With the car, the British formation hope to link up with Ferrari, Red Bull Racing and Mercedes in the new season.
Whereas McLaren were still competing for third place in the constructors' championship two years ago, the team took a step backwards a season later. Partly because of a disappointing start and a stronger Ferrari, McLaren dropped to fifth in the standings behind Alpine.
McLaren decided to say goodbye to Daniel Ricciardo late last year and brought in Oscar Piastri as a replacement. In addition, Andreas Seidl left for a challenge at Sauber, while Andrea Stella was moved up to team boss. It ensures that the team faces multiple changes.
Special year. Special car.

Mclaren's confidence in MCL60
As McLaren wants to compete for the world title within a couple of seasons, they hope to improve themselves considerably in 2023. With the MCL60, the formation want to give Lando Norris and Piastri the opportunity to compete for podium places. However, the test days in Bahrain still scheduled this month should reveal how good McLaren actually are compared to the competition.
