Max Verstappen has never made it a secret that he does not want to race in Formula 1 until late in life. The Dutchman has a contract until he is 31 and he has already indicated he would like to be active in other racing classes as well.
Verstappen does not aspire to another role in Formula 1 either, he revealed to CNN. Speaking to the US news channel, he says he does not want to become an F1 team boss. "No, not in Formula 1," he said.
Racing in other classes
"I also like other forms of motorsport, like endurance racing. Formula 1 has been a big part of my life for a long time. We have to travel a lot and there will be more races in the future. The question then arises whether it is worth spending so much time away from family and friends to chase even more success."
Max Verstappen is known to be keen to one day race with his father Jos, for example in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Incidentally, it was announced on Sunday that Jos Verstappen will have to pass for the opening rally season. He is struggling with migraine-like symptoms. Although Verstappen senior is now feeling better, he will miss the first rally in Belgium because of extra medical tests.
