Drugovich's contract could mean he does not replace Stroll
- GPblog.com
It was announced earlier today that Lance Stroll will have to miss the Formula 1 winter test, which starts next Thursday in Bahrain. Felipe Drugovich is named as the Canadian's most plausible replacement, but this too is disputed by some.
Stoffel Vandoorne is one of the reserve drivers for Aston Martin, but because of the ePrix in Cape Town, it does not seem realistic that he will be in action. The next option then is Formula 2 driver Drugovich.
Contract issues?
But whether Drugovich will drive next weekend is also a doubtful matter among some parties. He is the logical choice, but Formula E driver and compatriot Lucas di Grassi makes an unusual comment on Twitter: He hints that Drugovich has signed a contract with no clause for mandatory testing or racing. In other words, Aston Martin does not have to use him and Di Grassi calls it a potential missed opportunity for Drugovich.
