Mick Schumacher has no desire to see himself back in Drive to Survive. Speaking to Reuters that he does not watch the Netflix series himself. He also reflects on his new role behind the scenes.
Netflix has always liked to pay a lot of attention to the Haas team, mainly because of the striking personality of team boss Guenther Steiner. This season is no different. So that also means that Schumacher's struggles are featured extensively in the latest series of Drive to Survive.
Although Schumacher has given his full cooperation to the series, he does not feel much like actually watching the end result. "I didn't watch it. That was my personal choice. I just don't necessarily feel the need to watch myself on TV, I guess," the German explained.
'Maybe this was the better choice in the end'
This year, Schumacher will not be on the track. Instead, he will fill the role of reserve driver at Mercedes and McLaren. Haas did not renew his contract and chose to replace him with Nico Hulkenberg.
"Who knows, in 10 years maybe I say 'ah, actually it was for the better'," Schumacher reflected. "It made me grow up as a person, made me grow up as a racing driver. I think that [at Haas] I've grown into a stronger driver hopefully and I'll be better prepared for whatever comes and waits for me in the future. There's still a lot that I want to show."
