Red Bull and McLaren are in talks over a possible engine deal from 2026, when the new regulations take effect. Christian Horner confirmed this at the press conference, to GPblog and others.

Zak Brown, the McLaren boss, stopped by Red Bull to see Christian Horner. "I thought he came over for lunch," the Red Bull team boss jokingly told the press. However, the Americans came for a possible engine deal, in which Red Bull would supply engines to the British racing team.

Logical talks for Red Bull

Horner: "As a powertrain manufacturer for 2026, it's inevitable that discussions are going to be had regarding potential powertrain supply." That's only natural that we would speak with potential customers." Andrea Stella, the team boss at McLaren, says the same as Horner in other words. According to the team boss, it is also normal for McLaren to look at future possibilities.

Brown: "We are in no hurry and we are very happy with Mercedes at the moment. So we will wait and see how things go before we have to make a choice."
