Hamilton: 'We're back to square one, may or may not be worse than last year'

Lewis Hamilton already sounded less than enthusiastic about the W14's form after the F1 winter tests, but seems even less convinced after Friday's Bahrain GP. The poor 2022 season start has been repeated in 2023, the seven-time world champion says.
Worrying news about Mercedes
Hamilton seems to have already given up on 2023. The Mercedes driver baulks that all the follow-through from the 2022 season seems to have disappeared over the winter. After a disappointing Friday in Bahrain, Hamilton sounds concerned about his team's form. It looks like a poor start.
Hamilton: " We are the same as last year around this time, we are if not maybe worse than last year. We are just completely on the wrong path. We are very far away from the guys at the front. There was good progression last year, but the gap then was not as big as it is now."
Hamilton: “We are either where we were last year, if not, a little bit further behind. We are just on the wrong track. Right now we are a long way off the guys in front. There was good progress last year, but the gap wasn’t as big as it is now.” #F1 #BahrainGP
