Horner cautious: 'As we know from last year, it’s important to finish'

Christian Horner looks back on qualifying in Bahrain with satisfaction. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez achieved the best possible result together by securing the first two starting positions in qualifying. Still, there is plenty of work to do for the reigning world champions.
Horner could not have wished for a better start to the season, especially considering the small differences visible especially in Q1 and Q2. Moreover, not only Ferrari and Mercedes, but also Red Bull Racing took into account the tyre strategy for Sunday.
Horner cautiously satisfied
"Both drivers managed to navigate their way into Q3 with the two sets of the softer tyres available. To lock out the front row is the best possible start for tomorrow’s race, but, the points are on Sunday, and as we know from last year, it’s important to finish," the Red Bull team boss referred to the double failure a year ago.
At the same time, Red Bull also has homework to do. "As I say though, it’s a great start from the drivers and the Team, but plenty of work still to do as we look to convert these excellent grid positions into points tomorrow," Horner said.
