Lance Stroll underwent what could pass for a medical miracle in a fortnight. The Aston Martin driver badly injured both wrists after a cycling accident and also broke his toe. In his latest post on Instagram, he tells the whole story and shows photos and videos.

It seemed that Stroll would not be able to get back behind the wheel until later in the year. For instance, his doctors initially expected that the injuries would not be completely over until Australia. That the Canadian nevertheless crawled into the AMR23 for the first race in Bahrain and managed to claim sixth place is impressive. In visible pain, Stroll drove his laps. He did not always manage to steer completely comfortably during the race, but he finished and major crashes were (narrowly) avoided.

Twelve days before the race was due, Stroll underwent surgery. This operation was successful, but he was not expected to be able to race until Jeddah. With a lot of luck, Bahrain was also possible. And that turned out to be the case. The fractures on his left wrist and in his toe could not be operated on, but with good care and hard work he could go for it.

After only four days, the plaster cast came off and the situation looked so much better that Stroll saw serious chances of racing in Bahrain. In the video below, you can see the Aston Martin driver's lightning-fast rehabilitation process.
