Häkkinen: 'I think he will pull it off again this year'

Mika Häkkinen thinks Max Verstappen will pass him when it comes to world titles. The Finn has also won two world titles himself, in 1998 and 1999. He estimates that the Dutchman will pass him this year and thus secure his third world title.
After the Dutchman's world titles in 2021 and 2022, things are looking good for the Dutchman again this year. Verstappen had few problems at the Bahrain Grand Prix and won race in dominant fashion. Sergio Pèrez even made it a one-two for Red Bull Racing.
To Viaplay, Häkkinen says things are looking good for Verstappen and his team again this year. "He's relaxed and they know they have a good car. They were really reliable, so they have all the reasons to be relaxed. But I hope they won't be too dominant," says the Finn. "I think Max will do it again this year, they look very strong and the team is super confident. They know what they're doing."
