Newey: 'We are not unbeatable'

During the season opener in Bahrain, Red Bull Racing seemed unbeatable with Max Verstappen finishing in P1 and Sergio Pérez in P2. Yet according to Adrian Newey, that strong impression is not immediately indicative of the rest of the season, he said in an interview with Sky Sports.
"I'm sure we won't be that strong week in week out. In Bahrain, things did not go as smoothly on the inside as it might have seemed ,'' said Red Bull's top designer.
Charles Leclerc crashed out during the race and Carlos Sainz did not get more out of his car than fourth place. Surprisingly, there was an Aston Martin on the podium, last year that team finished seventh in the constructors' championship and fared poorly.
Now Aston Martin made an immediate good start by seeing both drivers (Fernando Alonso & Lance Stroll) finish inside the top ten, putting the team in second place in the constructors' championship: "Aston Martin showed last year that you can change your car concept and come back stronger as a result."
Wind tunnel time of importance
So Newey is sure the team will not be as strong every week and says wind tunnel time plays an important role in the development of competing teams.
Red Bull now looks like the strongest team, but Aston Martin also surprised many with the opening race in Bahrain, whether Red Bull continues to perform so strongly we can see in the rest of the season, with the next race on the calendar being the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix
