Bahrain ended in tears for Ferrari: the team struggled with technical problems that meant the car was not fast enough to compete with Red Bull and, Charles Leclerc did not even make it to the finish. To ease the pain, the Italian team will take a new front wing to Jeddah, or so it seems.

The Italian Formu1a.uno announced this news today. In Maranello, following the debacle in Bahrain, the team has been working hard to come up with a solution. This should be provided (or at least ease the pain) by a new front wing that restores balance to the car.

The different types of rear wings

Ferrari has been testing its wings for a while, including the rear wing. Formu1a.uno reports that the 'one-piece' rear wing came along to Jeddah. It was already tested in Bahrain but did not yield the desired results, so Ferrari used a different type of rear wing during the race. Now, pictures from the Ferrari garage show that the team will venture back to the 'one-piece' concept after all.

Jeddah is a different type of circuit to Bahrain, so it is hard to predict how the teams will perform here. Perhaps Ferrari's front and rear wings can do their job better here. Incidentally, Leclerc already has a ten-spot grid penalty in Jeddah due to the replacement of the control unit in his car. So, the entire team will need to work hard for an optimal result.
