Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz deny rumours of instability allegedly existing within Ferrari's team. Suggestions about talks between Leclerc and CEO John Elkann would be based on nothing and would only be an attempt by the media to 'destabilise' the team.

Leclerc and Sainz deny Ferrari rumours

In the aftermath of the disappointment at the Bahrain Grand Prix, Italian media reported nothing but chaos and instability at the Italian racing stable. For instance, new team boss Fred Vasseur is said to be fed up already due to a lack of powers within the team, and Leclerc is said to have entered into talks with CEO John Elkann.

According to Leclerc, however, none of those suggestions are true. "This is absolutely untrue," he says of the alleged conversation with Elkann. "There have been loads of rumours around the team, which, for once, 90% of them were completely unfounded," he is quoted by ESPN. "I don't know from where it is coming from, and to be honest, I don't want to spend even any energy on trying to find where it's coming from."

However, a meeting did take place with all members of the team in Maranello, which the 25-year-old Monegasque said had a surprising outcome. Where he was unsure of what reactions to expect after the disappointing result in Bahrain, he saw only positivity. "Everybody is fully on it and fully positive still, which is great. We need to all push in the same direction. As I said, this is the most important to me," Leclerc concluded.

Sainz fully concurs with his teammate's words. "It is a lot better than what the news makes it sound like," he says of the situation at Ferrari. According to the 28-year-old Spaniard, his team knows very well what it needs to work on and how it intends to tackle it. He, therefore, says he is surprised by the way "some people have been trying to destabilize the team".
