Toto Wolff looks back frustrated: 'We hate our results'

At the press conference after Saudi Arabia's first free practice session, Toto Wolff provided more clarity on how things are going within his German squad. The results so far have not been as expected and hoped, but Wolff wants to resolve this.
Toto Wolff said in the press conference that there have been good discussions internally at Mercedes about the team's status quo. " I think all these meetings are giving us more clarity and more focus where we need to tackle in order to turn this around quick. "
On the atmosphere within the team, the team boss remarkably has only positive things to say about it. "I think we really over those 10 years have created a culture which is around tough love. We are able to have conversations that are maybe in some other groups or companies or teams, out of the ordinary. But in our team, we are just able to confront each other with the reality and the reality is always based on our own expectations of our own performances," the team boss said.
Wolff's retrospective
Mercedes' results are certainly nothing to write home about, but is a much better position in the rankings realistic? " The expectations was we're going to close the gap more and we're gonna be able to win more races and hopefully fight for a championship and that hasn't happened," Wolff said.
"There ain't no miracles in this sport and we're just honest about it and we take responsibility and accountability. I hate the results because of what we all expected from ourselves," said a frustrated Mercedes team boss. Whether Mercedes will recover this weekend remains to be seen.
