Verstappen reflects on training sessions: 'There were things that could be better'

Max Verstappen feels that Red Bull has not yet managed to get the most out of the practice sessions. Speaking to Sky Sports, the Dutchman reflects on the first day of the race weekend.
Verstappen experienced a good day on Friday. After initially arriving later in Saudi Arabia due to stomach flu, he more than made up for it during Friday's practice sessions by setting the fastest time by a distance on both occasions.
'There were things we could do better'
Despite the good result on Friday, the two-time world champion is not yet completely satisfied. "We had a positive day, but quite a few things I think we can do better," reflects Verstappen. "The long run was fairly close but it's more just managing the tyres because they don't let you push around here at the moment. With a low deg circuit, the lap times are all very close. not like Bahrain," he concluded.
On Saturday, Verstappen will have another chance to try out what he wants during the third free practice session, before starting qualifying at 18:00 Dutch time. The race will be run a day later at the same time.
