Car Verstappen changed at last minute, does not lead to penalty

Red Bull has made a number of changes to Max Verstappen's car. A document from the FIA states that the Dutchman has undergone a change to the gearbox for the second time this weekend. No grid penalty will follow.
Verstappen's car is pretty much under a magnifying glass this weekend. On Saturday, it was revealed that the reigning world champion had received a new gearbox in the car ahead of the third free practice session. The Dutchman had previously complained of gearbox problems, and it is obvious that the two situations are related.
During practice, it seemed the right choice: Verstappen's fastest time was just two-tenths slower than the time with which Sergio Perez later managed to capture pole position. However, the luck was short-lived. During qualifying later in the day, Verstappen's drive shaft quit, leaving the Dutchman to settle for 15th place.
Gearbox now reversed again
As a result of that failure, both driveshafts were replaced. The old gearbox has also been put back in the car. Verstappen will therefore drive in the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix with the same gearbox as in Bahrain. In addition, the car's rear suspension has also been adjusted. None of these changes will result in a grid penalty, as it is all still within the rules that have been drawn up.
