Drivers' standings after Saudi Arabia | Verstappen leads with fastest lap
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen fell just short of crowning his impressive overtaking race with a win in Saudi Arabia. Nevertheless, he managed to retain the lead the standings as he set the fastest lap on the final lap of the race. Sergio Perez follows on one point.
Fernando Alonso retains his place in the standings despite losing third place to George Russell. This happened after Mercedes went to question the FIA, claiming that Aston Martin did not serve the penalty correctly by doing so during the safety car.
However, Russell does climb to fourth in the standings, at the expense of Carlos Sainz. Lewis Hamilton closes in on P6 with an equal number of points as the Ferrari driver.
