McLaren has made it official that the former head of aerodynamics at Ferrari, David Sanchez, is switching to McLaren. Here, he replaces James Key, who will leave McLaren's team entirely.
The McLaren team is having a tough start to the season and has yet to score any points. In fact, the team is last in the constructors' championship. In an official announcement, McLaren announces that a number of organisational changes are taking place within the team.
One of the changes is the replacement of James Key, current technical director at the British team, with David Sanchez. There had long been rumours that Sanchez was going to leave his team Ferrari and make the move to McLaren, so this has now been confirmed by McLaren. Sanchez will join the British team from 1 January 2024.
