Problems keep piling up at Mercedes: 'New chassis only in 2024'
- GPblog.com
Major problems surfaced in the development of the new chassis last winter. Meanwhile, the German team is said to have fired the people responsible.
According to the rumour circuit, there is more information about problems that occurred during the development of the W14 in the wind tunnel over the winter. That reports Formula.uno on its site. It has emerged that some parts used in the wind tunnel (the scale models) were inaccurate and did not meet the required parameters. The mistakes made would have led to redundancies.
Mercedes' changes
Because of the dissatisfaction with the wind tunnel figures, Mercedes has stepped up development considerably in recent weeks. Besides sidepods, aerodynamic and cooling changes are also coming to the bolide.
Due to the budget ceiling, there is no room to introduce a completely new chassis with a different concept this year.
