Antonio Perez Garibay has been working hard for three years to get a new Mexican Grand Prix on the racing calendar. Sergio Perez's father wants to put this race on the map without neglecting the original Mexican Grand Prix.
In an interview with Jose Manuel Escobado on YouTube, Perez Sr. explains that many steps have already been prepared. "We have been working on the project for three years now, it is not an easy project. It is a very difficult project because it requires a lot of work and involves a lot of people," said the ambitious Perez Sr.
Cancun Grand Prix
A job has yet to be found, and Mexico's current president also has to approve it all. So you could say there is still quite a lot of work to be done. The plan is for the Cancun Grand Prix to be on the calendar from 2025.
Perez Sr, who will also be in action himself during the Mexican Grand Prix weekend, says this Grand Prix is also important to him. "If we have the Mexican Grand Prix solid, orderly and well-structured, the Cancun Grand Prix will be too."
