Hamilton feared being sacked: 'Was nervous every day'

Lewis Hamilton has said he feared losing his contract at McLaren at the start of his career. The Briton started his career at McLaren in 2007.
Hamilton started his career right away with a hefty test. The young Briton was put in a seat next to the then-reigning world champion Fernando Alonso. That 2007 battle between the two went down in the history books AND it is still clear to see that Alonso and Hamilton are not best friends.
Hamilton over McLaren contract
Hamilton had a great debut season and soon managed to win races, even fought for the title and regularly beating his teammate Alonso. Despite this, the Briton was worried about losing his contract.
"I was nervous every day. I was working on always trying to make sure I kept my deal with McLaren. I wanted to stay in the good books with Ron. So, I had to make sure I won every race, so I made sure I just won everything. I was just really focussed on delivering." the seven-time world champion told Fox Sports Australia.
