F1 aims to increase sales by targeting regional sponsors
- GPblog.com
Formula 1 has grown tremendously since its impressive 2021 season, which naturally also increased revenues, but F1 still wants more. To further increase Formula 1's revenues, the class would like to regionalise sponsorships along the track.
Regional sponsors
F1 now gets about one-third of its revenue from the advertising seen along the track. This revenue stream obviously depends on the number of races in the season. The 2021 season already allows F1 to charge more money for sponsorships, but with regional advertisers there is still more money to be made.
"We see a big opportunity in, I call it, the regions. We’re really exploring that area of how can we find big, large scale brand partners that might just want to focus on certain regions before they go to a global position," said Brandon Snow, commercial director of Formula 1 to Speedcafe.
