Mick Schumacher does not own an F1 seat on the 2023 grid and former Formula 1 owner Bernie Ecclestone is very strict on the German. According to Ecclestone, Schumacher should put his F1 dream out of his mind. Only Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner could save his dream.

No return to F1 for Schumacher

Schumacher's F1 career was somewhat disappointing and the German was not asked by Haas for a third year. Now Schumacher is at the track with a role as Mercedes' reserve driver. A return to F1 is no longer in the cards for him, says Ecclestone.

German RTL quotes the 92-year-old billionaire: "He should put that dream out of his head. Sooner or later we all wake up from our dream. He should forget about it and start thinking seriously about alternatives and pursue them."

'Only Horner can save Schumacher'

According to Ecclestone, Schumacher is not good enough for F1. This is largely due to the fact that he has always lacked a good mentor during his racing career. His father, F1 legend Michael Schumacher, would have been the excellent mentor, but could not be there for him in his racing development because of the tragic skiing accident.

Miraculously, the only way out Ecclestone sees for the young Schumacher is at Red Bull Racing: "I think he needs someone who really wants to guide him to success and be there constantly." RTL reports that the Briton sees only Red Bull's Christian Horner as a qualified person to take Schumacher under his wing.
