Perez focuses on race: 'If there is a circuit you can race on it's here'

Sergio Perez finished qualifying in Baku in third place, behind Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen. Not surprised by Ferrari's speed, the Mexican is still hopeful of victory.
After three disappointing races for Leclerc, the Monegasque now strikes back with his first pole position of the season. Ferrari seems to be fast in qualifying throughout the season anyway and now Leclerc has shown that.
'Tricky with red flags'
Q1 was extremely chaotic with two red flags. Those red flags did not help Perez. "It started pretty tricky with Q1 with the red flags we had there, and then sticking to the same set because you don't want to waste a set just to get through. It was pretty challenging, but the team did a great job," said the Mexican after qualifying.
Disappointed with P3
Perez finished qualifying behind his teammate and expressed dissatisfaction with his final lap. "I am disappointed sitting P3 because I felt there was more in it and my last lap wasn't clean. If there is a track where you can race on, it's here. We knew coming here that Ferrari would be our biggest threat."
