Dan Fallows praises Lawrence Stroll: 'His ambition is what attracted me'
- GPblog.com
Dan Fallows, former head of the aerodynamics department at Red Bull Racing, switched to Aston Martin last year. The following season, Aston Martin made an immediate big move and there are also many jokes about the Aston Martin looking a lot like Red Bull's car, Fallows denies this.
Fallows switched from Red Bull to Aston Martin on the second of April in 2022 and since this year, the British team has made an excellent leap forward. Sergio Perez already joked in Bahrain that the podium with Max Verstappen, Perez and Fernando Alonso consisted of only Red Bulls. Fallows is a bit embarrassed by such comments.
Not a copy of Red Bull
The Briton disagrees with these suggestions that the Aston Martin is a copy of the Red Bull and states that he is not solely responsible for the design of the AMR23. “It gives the impression that somehow I’m responsible for the design of the car, which is absolutely not true," Fallows states in an interview with the Telegraph.
Fallows on Lawrence Stroll
Lawrence Stroll is the owner of the British Formula One team and is making major investments to push the team further forward in the field. According to Fallows, the businessman's ambition actually attracted him to come and work for the team.
“He’s demanding, as you would imagine anyone in that position to be, but not in a negative way. He has big expectations for this team. But that’s great. His ambition and vision is the thing that really attracted me to this project. He wants this to be the best team in F1, and he will do whatever he can to achieve that."
