Christian Horner knows that his team, Red Bull Racing, is not popular among British fans. Very tough on the Englishman, he tells The Evening Standard. Still, the team had talks with Lewis Hamilton about a possible contract.

"We are British based, 95 per cent of the people we employ are British. We just don’t have British drivers," Horner said. The team, which is headquartered in Milton Keynes, is not popular among F1 fans from the United Kingdom. The team boss thinks this is not at all surprising:"When you’re competing against the most successful driver of all time and denying him winning, it’s inevitable we’re not going to be that popular with all the Lewis Hamilton fans."

Hamilton at Red Bull?

The boss of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez does not rule out that having a British driver could help. "Of course," added Horner. Indeed, over the years Red Bull has had several talks with Lewis Hamilton, but it did not get further than that between the two parties, writes The Evening Standard. Horner does not care: "I'm a hero in the Netherlands and Mexico!"
