Hill turns around and sides with Verstappen: 'Ruining sidepod goes too far'

Former driver and Sky Sports commentator Damon Hill has gone back on his earlier comments about the incident between Max Verstappen and George Russell during the sprint race in Baku, he tells the F1 Nation podcast.
Last weekend, the Briton was quite vocal about the Dutchman. He thought the world champion was a bad loser, after his comments about the contact between Russell and Verstappen, in which the latter suffered serious damage to his sidepod. A few days later, the one-time world champion recovered somewhat.
Hill sides with Verstappen
"When you go into someone else's sidepod and damage their aero and potentially put them out of the race, that is probably a bit too much", Hill said about George Russell. Although the former racing driver also knows that avoiding contact is very difficult. "I would like to see less contact but it's difficult to ask people to provide entertaining racing and not take any risks."
Hill also has no problems with Verstappen's comments towards the Mercedes driver now. "They're young lads, 25 years old, and they have fought in these competitions all their lives. They make it known that they're not to be messed with. They can't be the guy that gets rolled over so they puff their chests out from time to time," the commentator sounded understanding.
