Leclerc focuses on third place in Miami: "Red Bull is just too strong"

Charles Leclerc could not cash in on his pole positions in Azerbaijan, but the Ferrari driver travelled to Miami feeling good. The Monegasque is hoping for another podium finish, although he believes the first two positions are already given away to Red Bull Racing drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez anyway.
In any case, Leclerc is happy that the way up has started. "Yeah, it was good. After the first three races, it was really bad. I mean, we obviously were very unlucky in Bahrain, being in third and having that technical issue. Already a penalty for the second race. And then the DNF with the incident with Lance Stroll in Australia, so it couldn't be worse," Leclerc interjected in the press conference.
The weekend in Azerbaijan, through the streets of Baku, give Leclerc good hopes for the rest of the season. "It went really well. We had our first pole, which is great. I think it confirms how strong of a car we have, especially in qualifying. But then in the race, it confirms a little bit our weaknesses that we still need to work on our race pace, as the Red Bull is just too strong for now.
Ferrari updates
Ferrari will appear at the start in Miami with some updates. Does Leclerc think it will bring them closer to Red Bull? "It should go in the right direction. I don't think it will be enough to fight with them, but yeah, it will go in the right direction, I'm sure," he concluded.
