George Russell is not happy with Red Bull Racing's dominance. The Mercedes driver once again does not have the car he had hoped for this year and can currently only fight with Ferrari and Aston Martin. The Briton argues that the race for third place will be the most interesting to watch.

When Russell finally got a seat with the Mercedes team in 2022, he probably imagined things to be a bit different from how they are now. Indeed, before 2021, Mercedes won the constructors' championship eight times in a row, but since Russell joined the team, the car has not been as good and Mercedes won just one race.

At the moment, Russell can only fight with the Ferraris and Aston Martins, a battle with the Red Bulls is too much to ask. The Brit thinks it is a shame that Red Bull is so far ahead. "It's obviously just a shame that there are two more cars well out in front. Forget about those two and just watch the race for P3," Russell said at the press conference in Miami.

Russell expresses ideal

Russell points out that dominance is not good in any sport and expresses what he does want to see in Formula 1. "I think in no sport you never want to see somebody dominating, you want to have that competition and that's what we all want. In an ideal world you have 20 drivers and 10 teams all capable of winning."
