Max Verstappen again finished 'old-fashionly' at the top of the timesheet in Miami's second free practice session. He is followed by Ferrari duo Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, but they have Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez in their wake.

Verstappen had a gap of just under four tenths to Sainz, who in turn was a second ahead of teammate Leclerc. Perez followed just 0.021 behind the Ferrari driver. Behind, we see Fernando Alonso, who could not yet keep up with the pace of the leaders in his Aston Martin on the timesheet. However, the long runs look considerably better for the 41-year-old Spaniard, who clocked his lap times on the hard tyre.
While Mercedes drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton still ended the first free practice with the two fastest times, they had to concede a lot to the frontrunners in FP2. Hamilton finished in seventh place with a gap of nine tenths to Verstappen, while Russell had to settle for 15th. He had to concede almost 1.3 seconds to the two-time world champion.
