Verstappen beats Perez in Miami: "We kept it clean"

Max Verstappen was unbeatable. Saturday was disappointing for the Red Bull Racing driver, but in the end, it was the Dutchman who returned home most satisfied. In his first reaction, Verstappen says he is very happy that he managed to stay out of trouble and crossed the finish line first thanks to a long stint on hard tyres.
"It was a good race. Stayed out of trouble at the beginning and picked of the cars one by one. Then I could stay out longer on the harder and make it last. Then a good old fight with Checo, and we kept it clean," Verstappen summed up his Sunday in a few sentences.
Due to the disappointing qualifying, Verstappen had to come from ninth position, not the best starting position. "Winning a race from P9 was satisfying. We didn't know what the weather will do, but we were confident that the strategy (hard to medium) would work."
