It is not yet Ferrari's season. The Scuderia are currently fourth in the constructors' championship, and this is not what was hoped for prior to the season. With a few weeks to go until his home Grand Prix, Carlos Sainz is fully focused on improving his performance.

The Spaniard is currently fifth in the world championship with 44 points. His teammate Leclerc is not doing as well, and has 34 points so far, which puts him seventh in the championship.

'We are testing many things'

The Ferrari driver knows there is still a lot to do to keep up with the competition, he told the Spanish newspaper Marca during an opening event for the Spanish Grand Prix: "There is so much to understand, we test so many things every weekend. We cross one thing out and another we take advantage of, we still brutally analyse with the whole factory what Red Bull is doing that the rest of us are not doing."

'Most beautiful GP Spain in recent years'

On 22 May, Sainz will drive his home Grand Prix at the Barcelona circuit. The man who took his first victory in Formula 1 last year is incredibly looking forward to it: "It is the most special race, the one you think about the most. I'm looking forward to it more than ever because there are more people than ever. It's going to be one of the best Grand Prix in Spain in recent years."
