Perez departure not the plan according to Marko: 'Also signed for 2024'
Sergio Perez is coming on strong at Red Bull Racing this season. The Mexican has already won two races, which means Perez has already won as many races this season as in 2022. According to Dr Helmut Marko, a departure of the Mexican is totally out of the question.
Perez knows how to make things difficult for his teammate Max Verstappen for the first time since they are teammates. The Mexican seems to have found speed and managed to beat his teammate and take victory in the Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Perez departure not on the cards
It was previously rumoured that the Verstappen camp would like another teammate, but if this rumour is indeed true, the Verstappen camp is out of luck, Marko makes clear. "He signed a two-year contract and it includes 2024 and with the performance he is delivering, there is nothing against it," Marko told NTV.
'Atmosphere is great'
The RB19 is the dominant car in Formula 1 and Red Bull therefore managed to win all races, including the sprint. Verstappen and Perez alternate as race winners every time so far and the Red Bull advisor says there is a lot of respect between the two drivers. "The atmosphere is great. The two respect each other [Perez and Verstappen] and we have, I think, one of the strongest driver line-ups."
