Former Hamilton trainer: 'He's the fastest'
Lewis Hamilton is now in his 11th season at Mercedes. After a dominant period for the Brit at Mercedes, things have been tough going since the start of 2022. Hamilton's former trainer argues that the Brit can still win an eighth title as well as being the fastest.
Between 2014 and 2021, Mercedes managed to win all Constructors' Championships, but from 2022 it went downhill for the German constructor. Formula 1 regulations were completely changed in 2022 and Mercedes just cannot get to grips with these new regulations.
'Hamilton the fastest'
In 2021, Hamilton just missed out on his eighth world title and after that, the Brit did not manage to win a single race. Antti Vierula, Valtteri Bottas' current trainer and Hamilton's former trainer, argued that the seven-time World Champion is still the fastest.
"I think Lewis can win an eighth title, for me he is the fastest guy, if I can’t say Bottas!" joked the trainer at Grosvenor Sport. "But it depends on the car and its performance too. As a person, he definitely can."
'Hamilton always wanted to improve'
Hamilton is an absolute F1 legend and, according to Vierula, the Brit always wanted to improve everything. "He’s a passionate guy on the track. He was brilliant in getting everything out of the car and engineers, he pushes people to get the best out of everyone. He had a brilliant will to improve."
