McLaren announces special 'triple crown livery' for Monaco
McLaren will most likely drive with a special livery for the Monaco Grand Prix. The F1 team hinted at that with a tweet. More will follow at 5:00 PM BST on Tuesday, before the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
McLaren announces special livery
It is not certain, but highly likely. Indeed, in the video McLaren posted on Twitter, it is cryptic. The text accompanying the video reads: "Our story, reimagined like never before." That video shows a McLaren IndyCar car, a McLaren Formula One car and a McLaren F1 GTR from the 1995 Le Mans.
A few moments later, the words "Triple Crown Formula 1 Livery" briefly appear on screen. Winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Indy500 and the F1 Monaco GP means you have achieved what is known as the Triple Crown. Graham Hill is the only driver who ever managed that. Racing team McLaren also achieved the Triple Crown. As the Monaco GP and the Indy500 both take place on Sunday this weekend, there is a good chance McLaren will announce a special livery for the race in the principality.
Our story. Reimagined like never before.
