Ferrari not considering Hamilton's arrival: 'No offer made'
- GPblog.com
Lewis Hamilton was frequently linked with a move to Ferrari last week. Normally, you might say: where there's smoke, there's fire. But that does not apply in this case. Lewis Hamilton denied having had an offer from the Italians, and Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur is doing the same.
Ferrari did not make Hamilton an offer
Speaking to Sky Sports, Vasseur was asked about the topic of the day. "You know perfectly that at this stage of the season, each week you will have a different story," the Frenchman said before immediately clarifying. "We are not sending an offer to Lewis Hamilton, we didn't do it."
The British television channel was not satisfied with that answer and asked further. Whether there had been any talks with Hamilton? The answer to that was as short as it was firm: "I think every single team on the grid would like to have Hamilton at one stage, it would be bull**** to not say something like this."
Vasseur continued: "The last 20 years I discussed almost every single weekend with Hamilton, I don't want to have to stop to discuss with him because you are chasing me," he concluded. Hamilton is about to renew his commitment at Mercedes. Talks are in the final stages, according to the seven-time world champion.
