Long runs in FP2
Red Bull looked fast again in FP1 and will want to carry the momentum into the second free practice. But how close can Mercedes, Aston Martin and Ferrari come? Indeed, these three teams, like Red Bull, have travelled to Barcelona with updates.
Max Verstappen's RB19 features modified floor surrounds and a modified diffuser. Ferrari has tweaked a few things on the rear wing and also developed a new floor that will be driven. The sidepods have also been taken in hand. Aston Martin has mainly taken care of the front end of the AMR23, while Mercedes has tinkered with the diffuser and (as in Monaco) the sidepods.
In the last 20-30 minutes, the drivers will be sent onto the track with fuller tanks, as they almost always do in FP2. Heading into Sunday's race, the teams want to gather enough information on how the car reacts.
