Criticism of Hamilton after clash with Russell: 'He should apologise'
Nico Rosberg wants to see an apology from Lewis Hamilton. Not for himself, but for his current teammate George Russell. The Mercedes drivers hit each other during qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix, but only one driver - Russell - apologised. It would benefit Hamilton to do the same, Rosberg believes.
Rosberg wants to see apology from Hamilton
The Mercedes drivers hit each other in the closing stages of Q2 when Russell sidestepped the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz, who had just finished his fast lap. Both Hamilton and Russell started a fast lap but did not know it from each other.
"George apologised, which I think is right. But I think Lewis also needs to apologise because if Lewis goes through George’s lap is done, because then Lewis is right in front and George will be stuck behind him and his lap will be ruined, and it’s his last try to get into Q3," Rosberg told Sky Sports.
"Also Lewis, I think, would need to apologise later on," added Hamilton's former teammate. "It's kind of unfortunate, but I think there will be some serious discussions nevertheless."
