Mercedes fined for Hamilton and Russell's Parc Fermé issue
Mercedes has been fined for breaking the parc fermé rules after the Spanish Grand Prix. This imposes the same sanction on the German racing team as they did after the 2022 Austrian GP, where Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc all committed the same offence.
The FIA stewards found that Hamilton and Russell's physiotherapists entered the parc fermé where they were not allowed to do so. According to the regulations, they must wait until the podium ceremony is over, but the physios had joined the Mercedes drivers before then.
The stewards fined Mercedes €10,000. That is the same amount as was imposed in Austria last year, the difference being that this time it is not conditional. So Mercedes must now actually pay the fine, unlike last year's case when the incident first occurred.
