Wolff not worried about Hamilton: 'Settled in half an hour'
- Toby McLuskie
Rumours that Lewis Hamilton would part ways with Mercedes can be consigned to the dustbin. Hamilton and Mercedes allude in the media to an extension of the partnership, and listening to Toto Wolff 's words, all that remains to be done is the signing of the contract.
Contract extension Hamilton just half an hour away?
Hamilton is said to be disgruntled at Mercedes now that it has got off to a poor start two years in a row. Mercedes ruled Formula 1 for a decade, but now has to fight hard against Ferrari and Aston Martin for podium finishes.
It was rumoured that Ferrari was interested in the Briton and had offered him a mega contract. There was no official confirmation, but it does not seem that Hamilton has taken up this possible offer either. Indeed, Wolff makes it seem as if everything has already been discussed and the contract is ready to be signed by seven-time F1 champion.
The Austrian told GPBlog and others after the successful race for Mercedes in Spain: "Yeah, I think we just need to get time and to sit over coffee that's gonna take half an hour."
