Kobayashi on crash of the #7 Toyota: 'Frustrating'
During the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the number 7 car of the Toyota Gazoo Racing ended up crashing out ahead of the potential slow zone sign. Giedo van der Garde, was also involved in this racing incident, of which he commented on through his Twitter.
Kobayashi also reacted to the incident that gave him the end of the race after being in a good position. "The guy ahead breaked for whatever reason. If I overtake him there, I wil lget a penalty, so I braked and the cars behind just crashed into me. I had both tyres punctured on the rear, and the left reare driveshaft was broken, so I had no drive to return. It is frustrating," said the hypercar-driving Japanese driver. While Kobayashi tried, he could not restart his car multiple times, and a results, the Toyota team now only has the #8 to rely on.
Test for Van der Garde's team
"Got hit just getting into the slowzone, we were just back in the lead lap, car was running really well but I guess Le Mans is testing us," said the Dutch LMP2 driver.
