Last year's race weekend at the Canadian Grand Prix was hit with rain showers during qualifying. It made for a surprising starting line-up with Fernando Alonso on P2. What is the weather forecast in Montreal this year?

Wet training sessions

For Friday, there is a 60% chance of rain estimated, according to weather.com. It is likely to rain during the day, and so as it stands, teams will have to practise on intermediate tyres, or maybe even full wets.

Another wet qualifying session?

Rain is also expected in Montreal during the day on Saturday. The chances of rain showers are at 60% again, for now. This means that, for the second year in a row, we would get a wet qualifying session at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Are we going to see surprises again this year, or will pole position go to one of the two Red Bulls?

Chance of rain during race

Whereas last year we had a dry race, this year there is a chance that we will not keep it dry this year. For now, a 40% chance of rain is forecast, so drivers will have to be alert for possible rain showers.
