McLaren allows fans into Woking factory

F1 fans can now visit McLaren's factory in Woking, England. With German start-up Getyourguide, it is possible to book a behind-the-scenes day at the F1 team. However, this is not cheap.

According to McLaren and Getyourguide, enthusiasts will get an inside look like never before possible. Not only can visitors marvel at the team's historic cars, they will actually be allowed to walk around the factory. It is promised that they will be allowed to view McLaren's 'top secret assembly line'. On it, work on the team's latest F1 car is underway.

'Creating lasting memories'

According to the tour operator's CEO, the tour at McLaren is unique. "We want to create lasting memories - and people create them mainly through very special travel experiences," says Johannes Reck of GetYourGuide in conversation with Bild. "A visit to a Formula 1 team, where you can really look into previously strictly enclosed rooms, certainly falls under that."

Interest in the 6.5-hour tour is particularly high. For the coming months, there are only a few days left on which the tour can be booked. A ticket costs € 526.06 per person.
