Pressure off Perez: 'Don't agree with Horner'
For Sergio Perez, the Canadian Grand Prix hopefully means he can put a lesser series behind him. In Monaco and Spain, the Red Bull Racing driver went wrong during the two qualifying sessions, but the Mexican has put that behind him. Max Verstappen 's teammate has his eyes forward and is hoping for a good weekend in Montreal.
Perez wary of competition
Perez appears to be losing the connection with the championship leader on P2. Team boss Christian Horner indicated that this would ease the pressure on Perez somewhat. At the FIA press conference ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, Perez said he disagreed with the Briton: "I don’t think so. We always have to deliver to our maximum."
"we just have to make sure we deliver," Perez continued. "We have a great car, and we should be having lots of podiums and wins from now until the end of the year. The competition is getting closer and closer all the time but we will try our best." Whether Red Bull will have the fastest car this weekend, here is what the Mexican had to say about this matter: "It’s a tricky race track. Things in Barcelona, teams getting closer. One or two can get really close. The weekend is looking damp which will only get things a little closer."
