Hamilton after another podium finish: 'On the right track now’
Lewis Hamilton finished in P3 in Canada, where he has only won seven races in his career so far. Today, he did not challenge for the race win, and he was overtaken by Alonso after he bested the Spaniard at the start, Hamilton still says Mercedes are improving and are on the 'right track'.
Following the race, Hamilton told Sky Sports they weren’t the biggest contenders for the podium ahead of the race, but they did the one of the best job on the grid. "It was a difficult weekend for some other people. Ferrari were quick. If the Ferrari had qualified where they should’ve on a dry day they would’ve been quicker than us and would’ve been hard for us to overtake them in the race. That wasn’t the case. We did a better job than everyone else. We need to work on the rear performance of the car."
"We’re on the right track now. We just have to add a lot more performance in the low speed. I have full faith we’ll get there. We’ve got to beat the Aston’s for sure," the seven-time world champion concluded after the race.
