Red Bull Racing is dominant in 2023. The Austrian constructor won all races and missed pole position only once. Winning the races was often by a margin of more than 20 seconds, raising the question of whether Red Bull has more in store. Technical director Pierre Waché argues that it does not.

In the first five races there was still a battle between the two Red Bull drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez for victory, but since the weekend in Monaco, the Mexican has been far behind his teammate. Verstappen has led all the laps in Formula 1 since his overtake on 'Checo' in Miami and it seems difficult to stop the Dutchman's run at the moment.

Red Bull exploits full potential of RB19

In Canada, Aston Martin came out with a host of updates for the AMR23 and these did seem to have reduced the gap with Red Bull. Verstappen still drove to victory unchallenged, although the margin of victory was now less than 10 seconds, but whether the two-time world champion went to the limit in Canada is unknown. At the press conference in Canada, Waché was asked if there is any extra speed in the RB19, which has not been used so far.

"Not really. In Qualy, for sure, we are pushing. During the race, everybody is managing the tyre to increase the steering length, give more choice and strategy.  But like everybody is doing. I think we are, as everybody," Red Bull's technical director explained.

Red Bull's advantage in the race greatest

In qualifying, Red Bull's competition still comes close, or even past as in Baku, but in the race, the RB19 seems unbeatable. "You see that in Qualy, for sure, they were every time closer in terms of pure performance. After in terms of management of pace during the race, we have some advantage. But I'm sure they can unlock this. We'll come on to their answer," Waché concluded.
