Red Bull and Verstappen on track to break 35-year-old record

Max Verstappen and Red Bull are having a fantastic season. Not a single race has been won by another team, and with a 69-point lead over teammate Sergio Perez, it looks like it will be an easy road to the championship for the Dutchman. But did you know that Verstappen's Austrian team could break a particularly old record this year?
It is about the record for the percentage of most wins in a season. Currently, this record stands on the name of McLaren, which managed to win 15 out of 16 races in 1988 with the MP4/4.
Record designer impressed
The RB19 currently seems to be the fastest on every track, so the record could well be broken. Gordon Murray, the designer of the record-breaking car, is also impressed with Verstappen's car, telling The Times: "I was fortunate to be designing grand prix cars in the Seventies and the Eighties, where a ‘not bad’ idea could be turned into a race-winning concept between grand prix races. With the current regulations, this is all but impossible."
To surpass the current record of 93.75% wins in a single season, Red Bull would have to cross the line first in 21 out of 22 races. Indeed, that would take the Austrian team to 95.45% race wins. Murray says: "Red Bull have an excellent chance of beating it this year — they must win all but one race to achieve this and I will be watching with interest."
